2013 Poem 21: The solar system has a dust problem

Since it hasn't been cleaned
in billions of years
we shouldn't be surprised
the solar system
has a dust problem.

It's mostly the small
members of the family
of course.
Rough and tumble play
in the asteroids,
comets shedding everywhere
expecting the Sun to clean up.
And if you've got irregular satellites
in your system,
say goodbye to keeping
icy surfaces gleaming.

We are told that nature
abhors a vacuum.
But would it kill nature
to just tidy up a bit
once in a while?
