it is harder to finish things
than it was
when i was younger.
i can cast aspersions
on the streaming decks
or blame distraction
from posies or jayhawks
or other voices.
i can note the mounting
obligations
that CANNOT WAIT
and a lengthening reading list
from better-looking people
with better ideas
and more talent
(who are actually really, really nice).
but if i look at the problem,
there just seems
like there’s always
more to say
and i can’t do the universe
any justice.
